Uses

 

Organic synthesis raw materials:
1,3,5-Trimethylbenzene is used to produce intermediates such as trimesic acid and trimesic anhydride, and then synthesize polyester resins, epoxy resin curing agents, polyimide materials, etc. In addition, 2,4,6-trimethylbenzene can be prepared for the production of reactive brilliant blue, K-3R and other dyes.
High boiling point solvent:
Due to its low toxicity and good solubility, it is widely used in the coating, ink, and rubber industries to adjust the product viscosity and drying rate; it is used as a silicone photosensitive film developer in the electronics industry.

 

Safety Information

 

1,3,5-Trimethylbenzene is slightly toxic, with a toxicity similar to that of xylene. Inhalation of high-concentration vapor can irritate the respiratory tract, and long-term contact may damage the liver and nervous system. Skin contact can cause degreasing dermatitis. The maximum allowable concentration in the air is 125mg/m³. Wear protective equipment when operating, avoid fire sources, store in a cool and ventilated place, and store separately from oxidants. In case of leakage, use sand or inert materials to contain it to prevent water pollution.
