Organic intermediate 1 - Acetylferrocene appears as a white solid and has a melting point between 81 - 86℃, the melting point of the pure material is 85℃, a boiling point of 160 - 163℃, a relative density of 1.014g/cm³, a flash point of 99.1 °C, a refractive index of 1.502. The vapor pressure is 3.0004 mmHg at a boiling point of 160 - 163℃. It is insoluble in water and is easily soluble in organic solvents such as benzene, ether, gasoline, diesel, and ethanol.

Preparation method

Generally, ferrocene and acetic anhydride are used as raw materials, and under the action of boron trifluoride, hydrofluoric acid, phosphoric acid and other catalysts, the monomer substituted acetylferrocene is mainly formed; if anhydrous aluminum trichloride is used as the catalyst , acid chloride or acid anhydride is an acylating agent. When the molar ratio of the acylating agent to ferrocene is 2:1, the reaction product is mainly a 1,1'-binary substitute.

Fuel additives: 1-Acetylferrocene is an accelerator for rocket solid combustion, a smoke-disinfecting and energy-saving additive for diesel, and a gasoline anti-explosion combustion aid. It can be used for smoke-disinfecting and promoting combustion of various heavy fuels, coal, crude oil, polymers, etc.
Materials field: As an important intermediate in the synthesis of ferrocene derivatives, it is widely used in homogeneous catalysis, molecular magnets, liquid crystals and nonlinear optical functional materials.
