What is Polyisobutylene CAS 9003-27-4?
Polyisobutylene is usually a colorless to light yellow viscous liquid or rubbery semisolid. Low molecular weight is soft and colloid-like, high molecular weight is tough and elastic, density is about 0.92g/mL (25℃), soluble in aliphatic hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons, etc., insoluble in lower alcohols and ketones, excellent air tightness, good viscoelasticity. It has strong chemical stability, acid, alkali, salt corrosion, good weather resistance and cold resistance, and is not easy to age after long-term use, but it is incompatible with strong oxidants, hot weak oxidants, concentrated organic acids and halogens.
