What is Polypropylene/PP?

Polypropylene, referred to as PP, is a highly crystalline (crystallinity up to 95%) thermoplastic resin with regular configuration. The product is a natural granular material, a non-toxic, tasteless, odorless and lightweight polymer with a density of 0.90-0.91g/Cm3, which is the lightest among general plastics. It has good rigidity and wear resistance, high hardness, and good high-temperature impact resistance. It is particularly stable to water. It is not only insoluble in water, but also almost non-absorbent. The water absorption rate in water for 24 hours is only 0.01%. It has excellent electrical insulation performance and good voltage and arc resistance.

Uses

PP (Polypropylene) is a common thermoplastic plastic with the characteristics of light weight, corrosion resistance, and easy processing. It has a wide range of uses in various fields:

1. Packaging industry: making food packaging bags, cling film, shopping bags, etc. Polypropylene can also produce plastic bottles, cans, boxes (such as yogurt boxes, seasoning bottles).
2. Automobile industry: manufacturing dashboards, steering wheels, seat frames, etc., taking advantage of its impact resistance and heat resistance. It can also be used for exterior decoration, such as bumpers, fenders, ventilation ducts, etc.
3. Fibers and textiles: can produce masks, protective clothing, sanitary napkins, diapers and other sanitary products; can also be used to make synthetic fibers.
4. Home appliances and electronics: used for home appliance housings and electronic components, wear-resistant and easy to injection mold, and has the characteristics of insulation and electrical resistance.

PP has become the second largest general-purpose plastic in the world (second only to PE) by virtue of its comprehensive performance advantages.

Safety Information

1. Avoid prolonged exposure to high temperatures to prevent melting and burning.
2. Avoid PP from contact with strong oxidants and strong acids to prevent violent reactions.
3. When processing and using Polypropylene, pay attention to ventilation and avoid inhaling dust and fumes.
4. Avoid exposing PP products to sunlight to prevent aging and deterioration.
