It has a sweet and pleasant fruit wine, plum-like aroma of Chemicalbook. The compound can dissolve in most organic solvents, but it is difficult to dissolve in oil. The compound has good compatibility with most cellulose, polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl acetate resin and chlorinated rubber.

Uses
Triethyl citrate is a non-toxic plasticizer widely used as a plasticizer for cellulose resins and vinyl resins. As a filler preservative in food, it can improve the foaming and bulking of baked goods. As an antioxidant, it is used to stabilize soybean oil, salad oil, margarine, shortening and other edible oils.
It is mainly used as a plasticizer for thermoplastic resins such as cellulose and vinyl. It is also used in the coating industry and can be used as a berry flavor.
