Polyisobutylene (PIB) is a homopolymer of isobutylene. Due to different preparation methods and process conditions, the molecular weight of PIB can vary within a certain range. High molecular weight polyisobutene refers to a PIB product with an average relative molecular mass of 500-5000 and an a-olefin content of more than 60%, which is a typical saturated linear polymer. It has good heat resistance, light resistance, and ozone aging resistance, and has ideal chemical stability. Polyisobutylene is the preferred raw material for synthetic lubricant additives.
