What is Ethyl Alcohol?

Ethyl Alcohol, also known as ethanol, is a colorless transparent liquid. It is a mixture of azeotropy with water distilled at 78.01℃. It is volatile. It can be miscible with water and organic solvents such as propylene glycol, chloroform, benzene, and ether. Industrial ethanol is dehydrated by azeotropic distillation to obtain anhydrous ethanol with a water content of less than 0.1%. Its CAS number is 64-17-5, EINECS number is 200-578-6, chemical formula is C₂H₆O, and molecular weight is 46.07.
