What is Sodium L-pyroglutamate?

Sodium L-pyroglutamate, also known as L-PCA-NA, is a white or off-white crystalline powder. It is soluble in water, methanol and ethanol, but insoluble in chloroform and benzene.

Sodium L-pyroglutamate, referred to as PCA sodium, is the sodium salt form of L-pyroglutamic acid. It has excellent moisturizing and biocompatibility and is widely used in many industries. Its main uses are as follows:
