Alpha-Asarone is a white to light yellow crystalline powder, sensitive to light, with a melting point of 57-63°C, a boiling point of 296°C, a density of 1.165 g/mL (20°C), slightly soluble in water, and easily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, and chloroform.

Uses:

Alpha-Asarone has multiple pharmacological activities, inhibits HMG-CoA reductase and CYP isoenzymes, and is used for anti-epileptic, anti-asthmatic, expectorant and sedative treatment.
