Fidaxomicin is a macrolide antibiotic with a molecular formula of C52H74Cl2O18 and a molecular weight of 1058.04. It has low solubility in water but high solubility in organic solvents such as chloroform, DMSO and methanol.
98% of Fidaxomicin is produced by microbial fermentation, mainly from Actinoplans deccanensis or Dactylosporangium aurantiacum.

FidaxoMicin is mainly used to treat refractory Clostridium difficile infection (CDI). Its mechanism of action is to inhibit the RNA polymerase of bacteria, thereby quickly fighting refractory Clostridium difficile infection, and its therapeutic effect is better than existing drugs.
