Pretilachlor is a selective anilide herbicide with the chemical name of 2-chloro-N-(2,6-diethylphenyl)-N-(2-propoxyethyl)acetamide. It is mainly used in rice fields and has strong selectivity. It has a significant control effect on barnyard grass and various annual broadleaf weeds and sedges. It is a light yellow to yellow-brown oily liquid with low solubility in water, but easily soluble in organic solvents such as methanol, acetone and xylene.

1. Pretilachlor is widely used to control annual grass weeds, broadleaf weeds and sedge weeds such as barnyard grass, kiwi fruit, paspalum distachyon, moss, oriental water plantain, and pondweed in rice fields. It is especially suitable for weed control after rice transplanting or in direct-seeded fields.
2. It is usually applied 3-7 days after rice transplanting or 3-5 days after direct-seeded rice sowing. When applying, it is necessary to maintain a 3-5 cm water layer in the field to enhance the efficacy and reduce the loss of the agent.
3. There may also be some applications in weed control in special environments such as aquatic plants and wetlands, but it is mainly concentrated in rice fields.
