What is the use of DPM solvent?
Dipropylene glycol methyl ether (DPM) is a highly adaptable compound with a variety of industrial uses. It is a stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride, ensuring thermal and processing stability. In addition, it is an effective solvent for nitrocellulose, ethyl cellulose and polyvinyl acetate, and can therefore be used in coatings, adhesives and polymers. In paints, dyes, printing inks and enamels, its solvent properties further improve dispersion and consistency.
DPM is widely used in a variety of specialty formulations. It is used as a coupling agent in waterborne coatings.DPM is also used in household and industrial cleaners, grease and paint removers, and metal and hard surface cleaners.
In textiles, DPM is used as a solvent and coupling agent in vat-dyed fabrics to promote uniform coloration. It is also used as a coupling agent in cosmetic formulations and skin conditioners to improve texture and stability. In addition, it is used in agricultural formulations as a stabilizer and coagulant for pesticides.
