Lithium chloride(CAS:7447-41-8) is an inorganic substance with the molecular formula LiCl and a molecular weight of 42.39 g/mol. It appears as a white crystalline solid and has a wide range of applications, including air conditioning, fireworks, dry batteries, and lithium metal production. It is also used as a flux and desiccant.
Anhydrous lithium chloride is mainly used in molten salt electrolysis for the production of lithium metal raw materials. Additionally, it finds applications in aluminum welding agents, air conditioning dehumidifiers, special cement production, and as a catalyst in polymer materials.
Lithium chloride is also used to produce flame colors in pyrotechnics and in the battery industry for the manufacture of lithium manganese battery electrolytes.
