Bisphenol-A-Polycarbonate is also known as PC plastic, or BAP for short. It is a high molecular weight polymer containing carbonate groups in its molecular chain. Its CAS number is 25037-45-0, its chemical formula is C₁₆H₁₈O₅, and its molecular weight is 290.32. Its density is 1.2 g/ml (literature value) at 25°C, its melting point is between 220 and 230°C, its boiling point is 784.3°C at 760 mmHg pressure, and its flash point reaches 442°C.
