Polyester Industry:
- PET Resins: Mono Ethylene Glycol /MEG is a primary raw material for PET production-reacting with terephthalic acid to form PET resins used in plastic bottles,food packaging,and textile fibers. Over 60% of global MEG output is consumed in PET manufacturing.
- Polyester Fibers: MEG Glycol is used in producing polyester staple fibers and filaments,widely applied in clothing,home textiles,and industrial fabrics.
Antifreeze & Coolant:
Formulated into automotive and industrial antifreezes/coolants; lowers the freezing point of water and raises the boiling point,preventing engine or equipment damage from freezing in winter and overheating in summer.
Chemical Synthesis:
Ethylene glycol (C2H6O2) is Used in producing diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol,and other glycol ethers.
Other Applications:
In paper industry,as a softening agent to improve paper flexibility; in leather processing,as a humectant to prevent cracking; also used in hydraulic fluids and deicing agents.
