- Raw material for adipic acid and caprolactam production (key intermediates for nylon-6 and nylon-66).
- Solvent in chemical processes, paint formulations, and extraction.

Benzene
- Used to produce styrene (for polystyrene plastics), cumene (for phenol and acetone), aniline (for dyes and polyurethane), and alkylbenzenes (for detergents).
