Uses

• Chemical synthesis field: 1-Octanol is used as a raw material to synthesize plasticizers such as dioctyl phthalate (DOP), which is widely used in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic processing to improve the flexibility of plastics.
• Surfactant field: N-Octanol can produce anionic surfactants such as sodium fatty alcohol sulfate, which is used in the preparation of detergents and emulsifiers, and plays a role in decontamination and dispersion in daily chemicals and industrial cleaning.
• Solvent and extraction field: As an organic solvent, Octanol is used in the production of coatings and inks, and can also be used as an extractant to separate rare metals, or to dissolve flavor ingredients in the fragrance industry.
• Medicine and fragrance field: It is used as an intermediate for drug synthesis in the pharmaceutical industry; in the fragrance industry, its ester derivatives can be used as flavor ingredients for the fragrance preparation of food and cosmetics.
