Chemical properties
Benzenecarbonyl Chloride will gradually decompose when it comes into contact with water or ethanol, generating benzoic acid or ethyl benzoate and hydrogen chloride. It is a sensitive substance that easily reacts with strong oxidants, water, alcohol and strong alkalis, and even with DMSO reacts violently.
