What is 2-Hydroxyethyl acrylate?
2-Hydroxyethyl acrylate, referred to as HEA, is a colorless, transparent liquid that is miscible with water and soluble in common organic solvents. The product usually contains 400ppm of the inhibitor hydroquinone methyl ether. Hydroxyethyl acrylate is a difunctional acrylate monomer with high reactivity. It can be used to prepare acrylic coatings, adhesives and UV-reactive oligomers. It can also be cross-linked with isocyanates or melamine.

Application
- Coatings: 2-Hydroxyethyl acrylate can be used to make thermosetting coatings, light-curing coatings, etc.
- Adhesives: HEA is an important monomer for producing high-performance adhesives. It can give adhesives good bonding properties and has excellent adhesion to a variety of materials such as metals, plastics, rubber, etc.
- Textiles: HEA is used for fabric finishing to improve the softness, wrinkle resistance and waterproofness of fabrics.
- Plastics: Hydroxyethyl Acrylate is added to plastics as a functional monomer to improve the flexibility, transparency and processing performance of plastics.
