- 1-Butanol is widely applied in the manufacture of n-butyl esters such as phthalate, aliphatic dibasic acid, and phosphate plasticizers, which are used in the production of plastics and rubber materials.
- It also serves as an important intermediate in the synthesis of butyraldehyde, butyric acid, butylamine, and butyl lactate.
- In addition, it is commonly utilized for extracting oils, pharmaceuticals, and fragrances, and as an additive in alkyd resin coatings.
- Due to its strong solvency, 1-Butanol functions effectively as a solvent and dewaxing agent for organic dyes and printing inks.
- It is further employed in the production of melamine resins, acrylic coatings, and epoxy varnishes, as well as a chromatographic reagent and general organic synthesis material.
- In the food industry, 1-Butanol can be used to create flavoring agents such as banana, cream, whisky, and cheese essences.
