• It serves as an initiator for anionic polymerization and facilitates deprotonation reactions, such as in the α-alkylation of ketones with primary alcohols without transition metal catalysts.
• LiOtBu is also effective in synthesizing heterocyclic compounds like 3H-oxazol-2-ones and (Z)-oxazolidin-2-ones from substituted propargyl alcohols and isocyanates.
• Additionally, it is used in conductive gel electrolytes and flame spray pyrolysis for lithium vanadate nanoparticles.
