- Raw material for PET, including fiber-grade polyester and bottle-grade PET for beverage containers.
- Also used to produce alkyd resins, glyoxal, and other polymer intermediates.

- Used as a plasticizer, surfactant component, hygroscopic agent, and wetting agent for cellophane, fibers, leather, and adhesives.
Antifreeze & Cooling Applications
- Widely applied as an antifreeze for automotive engines.

- Also used in some processes as a condensing medium.
