It is soluble in many organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, and acetone, and slightly soluble in ethylene glycol and water. It can polymerize under light, heat, ionizing radiation, or in the presence of a catalyst. It is flammable when exposed to open flames, high temperatures, or oxidizers, and combustion produces irritating fumes; therefore, it should not be stored for extended periods.
