Potassium formate is a colorless transparent liquid or white solid, easily absorbs moisture and has reducing properties. It can react with strong oxidants. Its density is 1.91 g/cm³, and it is soluble in water, with a saturated solution having a specific gravity of 1.58 g/cm³. It is non-toxic and non-corrosive.
