What is 2-Butoxy ethanol?

2-Butoxy ethanol, an organic compound with chemical formula C6H14O2, is a colorless transparent liquid, which is soluble in water, acetone, benzene, ether, methanol, carbon tetrachloride and other organic solvents and mineral oils. It is mainly used as a high boiling point solvent for paints, especially nitro paint, quick drying paint, varnish, enamel and paint remover, and also as an inactive thinner for adhesives, metal detergent, paint remover, fiber wetting agent, pesticide dispersant Drug extractants, resin plasticizers.

• Industrial solvent: 2-Butoxy ethanol is widely used in coatings, inks and cleaning agents. It effectively dissolves resins and greases and regulates drying speed.
