MRI contrast agent: DOTA can form a complex with gadolinium and is used as a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast agent, especially in the examination of the central nervous system.
Radiolabeling: DOTA can be used for radiolabeling of carbon nanotube bioconjugates by chelating radioisotopes such as 64Cu, and can also be conjugated with monoclonal antibodies for clinical radiotherapy.
Metal complexes: Metal complexes of DOTA peptide conjugates can be used for radiotherapy.
