1-(3-(Benzyloxy)phenyl)ethanone (CAS No. 34068-01-4), also known as 3'-Benzyloxyacetophenone and 1-(3-(Phenylmethoxy)phenyl)ethan-1-one, is a pale yellow low melting solid with a molecular formula of C₁₅H₁₄O₂ and a molecular weight of 226.27 g/mol.
1-(3-(Benzyloxy)phenyl)ethanone has a density of 1.1 g/cm³, a boiling point of 354°C (760 mmHg), a flash point of 155.9°C, and a refractive index of 1.569. It is slightly soluble in water and easily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and acetone.
 

Uses

1-(3-(Benzyloxy)phenyl)ethanone is used as a pharmaceutical intermediate for the synthesis of drugs such as domamod and damamod and complex active molecules; it is also used in the organic synthesis of pesticides and fine chemicals.
