4-Iodo-2-methyllaniline (CAS 13194-68-8) is a chlorophenoxycarboxylic acid-containing compound with a molecular formula of C₈H₅Cl₂NaO₃ and a molecular weight of 243.02. Its molecular structure is centered on the benzene ring, with chlorine atoms connected at positions 2 and 4, and carboxylic acid groups bind to sodium ions to form sodium salt. The chemical name is 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid sodium salt.
The melting point of 4-Iodo-2-methylaniline is 215–216°C (decomposition), is easily soluble in water (solubility >500 g/L, 25°C), and is slightly soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and acetone. Its aqueous solution is alkaline and has good stability, but when it encounters strong acid, free 2,4 - dichlorophenoxyacetic acid will be precipitated.
