2-(Fluorosulphonyl) difluoroacetic acid is an important organic synthesis intermediate that can be used to prepare 1-difluoromethyl-2-oxo-1,2-dihydropyridine analogs and silyl fluorosulfonyl difluoroacetate. As a new and efficient difluorocarbene reagent, it can be used for cyclopropanation of olefins and can also be used for regio- and stereo-selective free radical fluoroalkylation of terminal olefins and alkynes.
