Fragrance Intermediates: In the fragrance industry, Methyl (R)-(-)-mandelate is used as an intermediate in the manufacture of a number of flavor components that give fragrances their distinctive aroma and flavor.Methyl (R)-(-)-mandelate is used in the formulation of fruity fragrances such as cherry, apricot, peach, etc. It is also used in the synthesis of fine chemicals.
Fine Chemicals: It is also used in the synthesis of other fine chemicals such as paint additives and specialty resins that provide specific functionality.
