Cellulose treatment: 1-Ethyl-3-Methylimidazolium Acetate can be used as a cellulose solvent to pretreat biomass materials such as sugarcane bagasse and promote enzymatic saccharification to produce glucose. Under acid-free conditions, the ionic liquid can also catalyze the acetylation of cellulose to improve product purity and reaction efficiency.
Organic synthesis and catalysis: As a reaction medium or catalyst carrier, it can improve the selectivity and yield of reactions such as Suzuki-Miyaura coupling. Its low volatility and high thermal stability make it suitable for high-temperature catalytic systems, such as loading metal nanoparticles to achieve catalyst recovery.
Electrochemistry: As an electrolyte additive, it can improve the cycle stability and ion transport performance of lithium-ion batteries and supercapacitors.
