What is Dihydrogenated tallow methyl amine Powder?
Dihydrogenated tallow methyl amine is a light yellow solid with a typical structure of long-chain alkyl tertiary amines. Its total amine value is between 103-108, indicating that the amine group in the molecule is highly active; the moisture content is ≤0.2%, the purity is greater than 99%, and the chemical purity is high. It is solid at room temperature and soluble in organic solvents. It can generate corresponding ammonium salts when it encounters strong acids. It has the alkaline characteristics of tertiary amines and can undergo quaternization reactions with halogenated hydrocarbons under certain conditions. The long carbon chain structure of the hydrogenated tallow group makes it lipophilic and has stable physical properties. It should be sealed in a cool and dry place during storage.

Application
- Surfactant synthesis: Dihydrogenated tallow methyl amine is used as an intermediate to prepare quaternary ammonium surfactants (such as cationic surfactants), which are widely used in detergents, softeners, and antistatic agents to give products emulsification, dispersibility, or bactericidal properties.
- Oilfield chemicals: Di(hydrogenated tallow) methyl amine is used to produce corrosion inhibitors, emulsifiers, or drilling fluid additives for oilfields to enhance system stability, or as an interface regulator in oil and gas production to improve crude oil fluidity.
- Asphalt emulsifier: Dihydrogenated tallow methyl amine is a key component of asphalt emulsifiers to promote uniform mixing of asphalt and water. It is used in the preparation of emulsified asphalt in road construction to improve construction convenience and material performance.
- Rubber and plastic additives: As an accelerator or activator in rubber processing, it improves vulcanization performance; it can also be used as an antistatic agent or lubricant in the plastics industry to optimize the surface properties of products.
