Pharmacological Action

Alcaftadine is a potent antagonist of histamine H₁ receptors and also exhibits some activity against H₂ and H₄ histamine receptors. It can competitively bind to histamine receptors to prevent histamine from taking effect, effectively alleviating various symptoms caused by allergic reactions. And it has anti - inflammatory activity, can inhibit the activity of inflammatory cells, reduce the release of inflammatory mediators, and thus further alleviate inflammation caused by allergic reactions, especially inflammatory reactions of local tissues such as eyes.
