What is Dihydrogenated tallow dimethyl ammonium chloride?
Dihydrogenated tallow dimethyl ammonium chloride is a white to light yellow solid powder with typical characteristics of quaternary ammonium salts. It is easily soluble in water and polar organic solvents. Its aqueous solution is cationic and exhibits good surface activity, such as emulsification, dispersion and antistatic properties. The long-chain alkyl in its molecular structure gives it lipophilicity, and the quaternary ammonium group makes it highly polar. It is chemically stable at room temperature and resistant to acid and alkali. It may decompose at high temperature. It is easy to form precipitation when compounded with anionic surfactants. It is often used as a cationic surfactant and has bactericidal and antibacterial functions. It should be sealed and moisture-proof during storage to maintain stability.

- Dihydrogenated tallow dimethyl ammonium chloride can be used as a fabric softener and antistatic agent to give clothes a soft feel and reduce static adsorption.
- As a water treatment flocculant, Dimethyl di(hydrogenated tallow) ammonium chloride promotes the sedimentation of suspended matter in water through charge neutralization.
- Used in asphalt emulsification process to improve the mixing performance of asphalt and water to prepare emulsified asphalt for road use.
- Acts as an antistatic additive in plastic and rubber processing to optimize the surface electrical properties of products.
