| VcMMAE is a monoclonal antibody that acts by binding to the extracellular domain of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and blocking its interaction with the ligands, thereby inhibiting cellular proliferation. The antibody drug conjugate has been shown to have minimal toxicity in mice. VcMMAE targets cancer cells that express EGFR, and does not bind to normal cells because they do not express EGFR. VcMMAE can be used for diagnostic purposes as it binds to both malignant and benign tissue samples. |

It reduces blood cholesterol levels by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, a cholesterol synthesizing enzyme, decreasing cholesterol synthesis, increasing the expression of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) receptors, and promoting LDL clearance.
The synthesis method of monomethyl auristatin E is relatively complex and consists of the following steps:
An intermediate is obtained by chemically reacting acetone cyanate with n-tert-butyl aluminum chloride.
Then, this intermediate is reacted with a series of chemical reagents and organic substances to gradually synthesize the structural skeleton of monomethyl oretastatin E.
During the synthesis of the skeleton, a series of protection and deprotection reactions are also required to protect and deprotect specific functional groups.
After refining and purification processes, the final monomethyl orestatin E product is obtained.
