It is insoluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, and completely soluble in the corresponding solvents.

Uses

Wood antiseptic: Copper Naphthenate can penetrate into the wood and react with the components within the wood to form a protective chemical barrier. It inhibits the activity of fungal enzymes and affects the physiology of insects, thereby playing the roles of anti-corrosion and insect repellence. Wood can be subjected to anti-corrosion treatment through methods such as soaking, brushing, and pressure treatment.
Ship antifouling: As a seepage aid in ship antifouling paint, it can toughen the paint film and increase the seepage rate of antifouling agents, thus achieving the purpose of regulating and controlling the seepage of antifouling agents and preventing marine boring animals from invading ships.
Other aspects: It can also be used as an antiseptic and mildew inhibitor for cables, cloth, and leather.
