It exhibits a bright orange-red to red powder appearance, high tinting power, and chemical stability, finding applications in both industrial and medical sectors.
The pigment has a melting point range of 258–272°C and a density of approximately 1.32 g/cm³. It is insoluble in water and slightly soluble in ethanol, acetone, and benzene. In concentrated sulfuric acid, it appears dark red-purple color, which precipitates as orange upon dilution. In dilute nitric acid, it turns dark vermilion, while remaining stable under alkaline conditions.
