Tetraethyl Orthosilicate is a colorless and transparent liquid at room temperature, with a density of 1.040 - 1.070g/cm³, a boiling point of about 160℃, a flash point of 38℃, and is soluble in solvents such as alcohol, chain hydrocarbons, and aromatic hydrocarbons. The hydrolysis reaction is slow in a neutral solution, but it reacts quickly in the presence of ammonia and easily forms a gel precipitate. In a hydrochloric acid environment, the hydrolysis rate is easier to control.
