Flurochloridone, whose chemical name is 3 - chloro - 4-(chloromethyl)-1-[3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-2 - pyrrolidinone, has a CAS number of 61213 - 25 - 0, a molecular formula of C₁₂H₁₀Cl₂F₃NO, and a molecular weight of 312.12.

The Flurochloridone original drug is a brown solid. It has a density of 1.46, a melting point ranging from 42 to 73℃, a boiling point of 453.7℃, a flash point greater than 100℃, a vapor pressure of 2.02e - 08 mmHg at 25℃, and a refractive index of 1.5032. Its solubility in water at 20℃ is 28 mg/L. It is easily soluble in acetone, chlorobenzene, and xylene. Its solubility in ethanol is 100 - 150 g/L, and its solubility in kerosene is less than 5 g/L.

Uses

Weed control: Flurochloridone is a pyrrolidone herbicide used for pre-emergence treatment of crops such as winter wheat, rye, cotton, and potatoes to prevent broadleaf weeds. Pre-emergence application of 500-750g (a.i.)/ha can effectively prevent weeds such as chickweed, ivy-leaved veronica, and field violet in winter wheat and winter rye fields.
Inhibit synthesis: It is a carotenoid synthesis inhibitor. For carrots grown in light soil, applying 500g of active ingredient/hm² can control weeds and increase yield.
