2-Bromo-1H-imidazole (CAS 16681-56-4), the molecular formula is C₃H₃BrN₂, and the molecular weight is 147.00. 2-Bromo-1H-imidazole is light brown powder at room temperature, slightly soluble in water, and easily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, acetone and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). It needs to be sealed and stored at 2-8℃ to maintain stability.

Uses:

Pharmaceutical intermediates: 2-Bromo-1H-imidazole is used to synthesize antifungal drugs, antiviral drugs and anticancer drugs (such as imidazole derivatives).
Organic synthesis: As a bromination reagent, it participates in the construction of heterocyclic compounds and is used in the preparation of pesticides, dyes and functional materials.
Research areas: Used in ligand design of metal complexes and catalytic reaction research.

Method of Preparation:
Bromination: 1H-imidazole is reacted with bromine, and the reaction is catalyzed by adding appropriate amount of sodium carbonate or silver carbonate to form 2-bromo-1H-imidazole.
Bromination: 1H-imidazole is reacted with sodium nitrite to form nitrosoimidazole, and then it is obtained by bromination reaction.
