What is 3-(1,3-Dimethylbutylidene)aminopropyltriethoxysilane?

3-(1,3-Dimethylbutylidene)aminopropyltriethoxysilane is a colorless to light yellow transparent liquid. It is soluble in organic solvents such as alcohols (ethanol, isopropanol), ethers (ether, THF), ketones (acetone), aliphatic hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbons, but insoluble in water. It slowly hydrolyzes in a humid environment to generate silanol (Si-OH), which can further condense to form Si-O-Si bonds. The hydrolysis rate is affected by the pH value, and acidic or alkaline conditions will accelerate the reaction. The substance is relatively stable to heat, but it still needs to be kept away from light and sealed to prevent moisture absorption.

• Surface modifier: 3-(1,3-Dimethylbutylidene)aminopropyltriethoxysilane can form an organic silicon compound layer on the surface of glass, metal, ceramic and other materials, improve the hydrophilicity and wettability of the material, and enhance its compatibility with organic matter or biological molecules.
