Uses
Preparation of peptide drugs: N-Carbobenzyloxy-L-alanine is used as an amino protecting agent for solid or liquid phase peptide chain extension. The protecting group can be gently removed by catalytic hydrogenation or acid hydrolysis (such as trifluoroacetic acid).
Synthesis of chiral compounds: Using its L-configuration chiral center, it participates in the synthesis of antibiotics, enzyme inhibitors and other stereoselective drug intermediates.
