Mechanism of action and efficacy of VC ethyl ether
From a chemical point of view, VC ethyl ether is an amphiphilic VC derivative with lipophilicity and hydrophilicity. This makes it extremely convenient to use in formulas and it is easy to penetrate the stratum corneum and enter the dermis. After entering the skin, it is easily decomposed by biological enzymes to play the role of VC and improve its bioavailability.
VC-ethyl ether penetrates the stratum corneum of the skin to reach the basal layer, inhibits the activity of tyrosinase, inhibits the formation of melanin, and reduces melanin to colorless, which is highly effective in whitening and removing spots. VC-ethyl ether can also directly participate in the synthesis of collagen after entering the dermis, increase collagen, and make the skin full and elastic.
In addition, VC ethyl ether shows extremely high stability relative to ordinary vitamin C. According to Cosmetics & Toiletries, vitamin C ethyl ether is more stable than alpha-arbutin, AA2G and vitamin C itself. It is a non-discoloring vitamin C derivative and has excellent antioxidant effects in cosmetics. It can ensure the utilization of VC and truly achieve the effect of whitening and removing spots.
Main effects
(1) Inhibit tyrosinase activity and inhibit melanin formation; reduce melanin, lighten spots and whiten.
(2) Strong antioxidant effect, effectively remove free radicals.
(3) Good stability, light resistance, heat resistance, acid and alkali resistance, and air oxidation resistance. High bioavailability, lipophilic and hydrophilic, easy to absorb by the skin.
(4) Prevent skin inflammation caused by sunlight.
(5) Promote collagen production and increase skin elasticity.
