Epsilon-Caprolactam, also known as ε-Caprolactam, is an organic compound with a special amine odor. It is a colorless crystalline solid with good solubility in water and organic solvents. It can be polymerized into nylon 6,6 at high temperatures and has good thermal stability and mechanical properties. The CAS number of Epsilon-Caprolactam is 105-60-2, the EINECS number is 203-313-2, the chemical formula is C₆H₁₁NO, and the molecular weight is 113.16. The density is 1.01, the melting point is between 68-71°C (literature value), and the boiling point is 136-138°C (10 mmHg, literature value).

Epsilon-Caprolactam is an important organic chemical raw material with many uses:
- Synthetic polyamide fiber (nylon 6): ε-Caprolactam undergoes ring-opening polymerization under high temperature, high pressure and catalyst to produce polycaprolactam, i.e. nylon 6.
