Introduction to inhibitors

Mar 30, 2024 Leave a message

There are many types of inhibitors and they are widely used. Such as negative catalyst for catalytic reaction, polymerization inhibitor for polymer compounds, antioxidant for plastics, rubber, grease, etc., foam inhibitor, anti-vibration agent for gasoline, anti-corrosion buffer, etc. For example, antioxidants are inhibitors of oxidation reactions in food, rubber and other organic substances, salicylic acid is an inhibitor of rancidity in food, ultraviolet inhibitors (such as methyl salicylate) are added to some polymers to prevent deterioration due to absorption of ultraviolet light, and organophosphosters are inhibitors of cholinesterase in the body. Inhibitors are required to prevent self-polymerization of monomers of certain polymers during storage and transportation.
