What is Calcium carbonate Powder?
Calcium carbonate is a chemical compound with the chemical formula CaCO3. 1. Industry and manufacturing
- Building materials:Calcium carbonate is the main raw material for cement production (accounting for about 75% of the raw materials) and is used to prepare silicate cement; it is used to produce lime (CaO) and is generated by high-temperature calcination. It is widely used in construction, steel smelting and environmental governance.
- Plastic and rubber fillers:Added as a filler to plastics (such as PVC, polypropylene) and rubber to improve the hardness, dimensional stability and cost of products; ultrafine calcium carbonate (nanoscale) can improve the surface gloss and mechanical properties of materials.
- Papermaking industry:Used as paper filler and coating pigment to improve paper whiteness, smoothness and opacity, commonly found in printing paper, coated paper, etc.
