Uses
In plasticizer production, phthalic anhydride reacts with alcohols to form phthalate esters like dioctyl phthalate (DOP) and dibutyl phthalate (DBP), which are widely used in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) products to enhance material flexibility and processing performance.
For resin synthesis, unsaturated polyester resin derived from phthalic anhydride is used in manufacturing fiberglass, coatings, and adhesives, particularly as a foundational material for composites in construction and automotive industries.
