P-Xylene Uses
- P-Xylene is an important organic chemical raw material, mainly used in the production of p-toluic acid (PTA), dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) and ethylene terephthalate (PET), and then the production of polyethylene terephthalate (polyester);
- It can also be used as a solvent and a raw material for the production of pharmaceuticals, fragrances, printing ink, etc.; it is used in the production of tapestry fibers, polyester containers, paints, dyes, etc.;
- P-Xylene is used for the production of terephthalic acid, and then polyester resins, such as terephthalate, butyl glycol ester and so on. Terephthalic acid, which in turn produces polyester resins such as ethylene glycol terephthalate and butylene glycol ester. Polyester resin is the raw material for the production of polyester fiber, polyester sheet, polyester hollow container. It is also used as a raw material for paints, dyes, pesticides, etc.;
- P-Xylene is used as a solvent for rubber, paints and as an additive for aviation power fuel.
