Benzoic Acid(C6H5COOH) is used as an antiseptic and antimicrobial in the medical and food industries.
It is used as a plasticizer in organic chemical industries.
Mainly used as a food preservative,1g/kg used in soy sauce, vinegar, fruit juice, jam, fruit syrup, can; 0.8g/kg used in grape wine, fruit wine and soft agarose; 0.4g/kg used in fruit soda water; 0.5g/kg used in low-salt paste, flour paste, candied fruit,haw jelly cake and fruit syrup; 2g/kg used in condensed fruit juice.
Other Uses：
- Coatings: Used in modified alkyd resins and polyamide resins.
- Feed Industry: Used as an acidifier to replace antibiotics for inhibiting intestinal diseases in animals.
- Industrial Uses: For metal rust removal and as a lubricant.
