Ethyl Acetate is a colorless and transparent liquid at room temperature with a strong fruity aroma (such as pear and banana), which is a key characteristic for its application in the fragrance industry. It has a low boiling point (about 77.1℃), is easily volatile, and has a density less than water (about 0.902 g/cm³ at 20℃).
It is miscible with most organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, and chloroform, slightly soluble in water, and its aqueous solution is neutral.

Applications of Ethyl Acetate Industrial Solvent
- EtOAc is used primarily as a solvent and diluent, being favored because of its low cost, low toxicity, and agreeable odor.
- It is commonly used to clean circuit boards and in some nail varnish removers (acetone and acetonitrile are also used).
- EtOAc is also used in paints as an activator or hardener.
- Ethyl acetate is present in confectionery, perfumes, and fruits.
- In perfumes, it evaporates quickly, leaving only the scent of the perfume on the skin.
